Jennifer A. Miskov Ph.D. // Revival Historian, Catalyst for revival, and Founding Director of School of Revival

Jennifer A. Miskov, Ph.D., is a Revival Historian, Itinerant Minister, and Spiritual Midwife who loves to come alongside leaders, churches, movements, and nations during their kairos moments to help birth them into revival and greater dimensions of the Holy Spirit. She is passionate about inspiring revivalist leaders, pioneers, creatives, and worshippers to walk in union with God, radical consecration, and total yieldedness to the Holy Spirit. She longs to help leaders build healthy rhythms in their lives to burn wholeheartedly for Jesus and to sustain that increasing flame.

As a spiritual mother to revivalists, Jen is the founding director of School of Revival, a global online school established in May 2020 to equip and raise up revivalists around the world. She also leads the Revival Leader’s Network which provides a safe space for pastors and leaders to be known, accountable, and poured into by global revival leaders in our day.

Jen is a revival speaker who loves to lead people into life-changing encounters with Jesus and invite them to experience a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire. As the founder of Writing in the Glory, established in 2012, Jen also loves to catalyze revivalist writers to birth their first books through workshops, ecourses, and coaching. Originally from Southern California, and ordained by Heidi Baker with Iris Global, Jen received her Ph.D. in Global Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies from the University of Birmingham, U.K.

I’m a surfer girl from Southern California who has always loved to be in the water for as long as I can remember. By being in the ocean, I have learned so much about Holy Spirit and riding waves of revival. I feel one of the gifts I bring is teaching people how to recognize and then fully surrender to the flow of the Holy Spirit so they can position themselves to step into their kairos moments and ride waves of revival in our generation.

My spiritual journey began when I was only a few weeks old. That was when my dad was suddenly paralyzed from the neck down. The doctors had no idea what caused this. After a month of tests and prayers, on Easter Sunday, God did a miracle and healed him. My parents got born again after that miracle and so I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home. I went to a Christian school and I remember going up multiple times for the altar calls to receive Jesus. No one ever told me it had to be a one time thing. Apparently, I really wanted Jesus back then!

I remember first encountering the love of Jesus powerfully and personally in the girl’s locker room my freshman year of public high school while reading my Bible at lunch. I discovered that this Christianity thing wasn’t just about rules, religion or my parents’ faith; it was about this man named Jesus who was madly in love with me and gave everything for me. It was during that lonely time that I discovered the unrelenting love of Jesus and chose to be ALL IN for Him. By my sophomore year I began leading a women’s Bible study at my school and joined in with the other on fire Christians at our school passing out tracks and evangelizing every chance we got.

When I was around 18, I began discipling women at our local youth group and began preaching for the first time there. God put a fire in my heart to share Jesus with others. I chose to go to Vanguard University to study the Bible. This is where I saw Heidi Baker speak at a chapel service my senior year. I had never seen another example of a woman doing what I felt born to do in preaching to the nations. I was marked. Right after graduation, I went straight to Mozambique where I planted a church in a refugee camp and served the poor with Heidi’s ministry.

God began to stir my heart for revival even more as time went on. Though I grew up in revival, I saw that years later some of the same people who had radical encounters were no longer burning for Jesus. This broke my heart. I knew there must be a better way forward. Because North America has been so blessed with the revival that spread from England through John Wesley and others, and because Heidi Baker also did her Ph.D. in England, I decided to study there to tap into those wells of revival. I wanted to discover and develop a theology of living effectively through revivals, of burning and not burning out. I wanted people to be able to experience the full measure of what God was pouring out in kairos moments while at the same time sustain that flame within them for the long haul. While there, I ended up getting a Ph.D. in revival history of all things. Those dark, cold, rainy days in England also helped me discover my passion for writing which has continued to this day.

When I returned to sunny Southern California, I knew I was about to step into something new, and I felt I needed Heidi’s blessing for whatever was coming. Heidi agreed to ordain me on New Year’s Eve in Redding where I also felt led to move. After that powerful blessing, I went through one of the hardest and most challenging times of my life where I had no car, no home, and didn’t know many people. It was in that time of desperation that I launched Destiny House, a worshiping revival community in a well of revival in the city. This time was a fruitful and transformational season of my life.

I later began to feel a stir to bring revival to the nations and traveled extensively throughout Europe for a season before God redirected me back full circle to Southern California right before the lockdown. God opened a door for me to teach at my alma mater school twenty years after I had graduated. That same year, I also launched School of Revival, an online school to raise up spiritual mothers and fathers to steward the incoming billions soul harvest. I yet again found my tribe in this beautiful global family God had brought together in such a unique time. From this community, I was invited to go to Australia for 4 weeks which turned into mobilizing a 40 day fast for the nation and itinerate preaching all throughout the eastern region for 4.5 months. I’ve since adopted this nation and feel a special connection with continuing the work God started there.

One of my life verses is John 10:10. Jesus died for us to have more than a one way ticket to heaven; He wants us to live the abundant life, which is full of extreme joy and also suffering. There is a life full of adventure, signs, wonders, and miracles for the brave who will enter into radical communion with Jesus.

I am passionate about inspiring pioneers, creatives, revivalists, worshippers, missionaries, and revolutionaries to step out in great faith to be closer to Jesus no matter what the cost, keeping their eyes fixed on Him always. I long to help people burn and not burn out. I love to launch people into their destinies by leading them to the edge of their cliffs (or comfort zones) and encouraging them to soar, scars and all. I am a spiritual midwife who loves to birth revivalists and help them step into their kairos moments, callings, and Ephesians 2:10 assignments they are born for. I also love to come alongside churches, communities, and movements to help midwife them into a greater dimension of experiencing the Holy Spirit and God’s glory.
